Exclusively Specializing in Kunkle 330/330s With ASME Storage Cylinders

Home

Owners and operators of a compressor system are responsible for compliance of all Cal/OSHA regulations with regard to safety relief valve verification requirements. The state agency also mandates that Kunkle 330/330S valves be certified annually.

Kunkle Valve Services is the only company that specializes in the Kunkle 330/330S valves used in conjunction with ASME storage cylinders. We are accredited by the National Board of Boiler Pressure Vessel Inspectors (VR #215, T/O #1374) and source parts directly, enabling us to test, rebuild, convert, and change pressure settings on any Emerson Kunkle 330 or 330S valve.

How We Work

With Kunkle Valve Services, we’ll take care of everything. Just send us your Kunkle 330 or 330S valve along with our submittal form. We’ll test the valve, if it passes, we’ll send it back to you. If it fails, we’ll rebuild it, change the pressure setting, and test it again for certification. All valve rebuilds include conversion upgrade from Kynar to Urethane soft seat.

Why do we use Urethane seat?

Kynar seats have a tendency to bond to their sealing surface creating a one-time seal. Once the valve gets tested to pressure and the seal releases, 80%-90% of the time the valve will not reseal and will fail their first annual test. Urethane soft seats have a much more forgiving seat that generally allows for multiple years of testing.

Why do we rebuild the Kunkle Valves?

New valves are assembled dry with no release compounds or lubricants. In theory, two perfect surfaces will produce a bubble tight seal. Unfortunately, imperfections occur and leaks happen. When a valve is assembled dry there is nothing to fill this miniscule amount of surface imperfection. Our rebuilt valves are assembled using a release compound on certain areas to assist in their bubble-tight sealing. The release compound allows the seat to be released and resealed during the annual tests. Our rebuilt 330/330S valves have a 97% passing rate on their first annual inspection!
